They have 2 vegetarian options. I ordered Vegetable Katsu. It was pretty good. Miso soup was not vegetarian, Otherwise the miso soup and the shredded cabbage is unlimited. But I enjoy the shredded cabbage a lot, I refilled it twice

This place’s Japanese pork cutlet bowls really impressed me! I ordered the fried seafood set, which came with fried shrimp and scallops, and I have to say, it was super delicious. The shrimp was crispy on the outside, and the meat inside was tender and bouncy, not dry or greasy at all. The scallops were even better—crispy on the outside and juicy inside, packed with fresh flavor. The dipping sauce paired perfectly with everything, adding just the right amount of richness. The portions of rice and side dishes were just right too, leaving me satisfied but not overly stuffed. As for the environment, it’s pretty nice. The place has a simple Japanese style, and the seating is comfortable. But since it’s so popular, it can get a bit noisy when it’s crowded. Still, the overall dining atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is quick and friendly. If you don’t mind a bit of hustle and bustle, I’d definitely recommend it. The food and the experience are both fantastic!

This was my second visit to Saku with friends, and it absolutely lived up to the hype again! We all had the ebi katsu this time, and it was delicious — crispy, golden-brown breading with juicy, tender shrimp inside. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything is cooked to perfection. Zaku is super popular, and for good reason. The portions are generous, the presentation is clean, and the service is quick and friendly even when they’re busy. The vibe is casual but trendy, and it’s a solid spot for katsu lovers. Definitely one of the best places in Richmond for Japanese cutlets. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Delicious, crispy, and juicy! My biggest worry for fried pork is how dry it can get, but this location cooks it perfectly. Highly recommend the tomahawk set. Service was very attentive and friendly. They have free rice and cabbage refills!

Visit: May 2025 The katsu was very good, cooked perfectly and fresh. The outside was crispy and the inside was juicy. The miso soup was exceptional, with a strong taste and umami flavour. I loved the shredded cabbage with sesame sauce. I did find the katsu sauce a bit too salty though. I liked the cheese katsu, but only in a small amount. There wasn't really pork in it, just cheese, so not likely something I would get on my own, but would be one to share. The one I liked the most was the miso katsu, as the miso sauce was deliciously tasty. The oroshi katsu we found was a bit hard to eat, but the radishes were refreshing, and the tokujyo rosu katsu was just standard but good quality The staff was great, always coming by to check on us and top off our waters. The rice and salad refills are free as well which is great. The atmosphere was gorgeous. It was bright, nice, and clean inside; it was very well kept Definitely a place to try out!

Come and try!!! You won’t regret! Family of 6 1/2. Not much pictures. Not even the best ones because we already ate them all! If it wasn’t for our sweetest table master (more businesses need to have her! Too bad I don’t know her name) adding in the best service this place would have been okay. She has the sweetest smile and best service one can find! Definitely a keeper! Would keep coming back for more of the awesome service and good food! The place is so clean as well! Washrooms are nice! Everything is good!! Try everything including zenbu can’t remember but this one will help you try other specialties in one order! Love it!! One thing to keep in mind if you’re a hungry hippo! Come before you become hungry! The wait time shows how good this place is!
